Good Day

Monday was a really good day.  Nothing too exciting.  We hung out on the couch, read a little, watched a couple shows, took a trip to Walmart, and had Family Home Evening.  It was a pretty typical day.

What wasn't typical was Eli.

When I got home from running he looked at me with a big grin and told Michael that he was showing me his happy face.

Apparently he woke up really whinny and Michael decided that was enough of that and Michael talked to Eli about choosing to be happy all day long.  And guess what? He was!

But he wasn't just happy, he played with his brother nicely, did things right when I asked him to with out arguing, helped his brother, and even put an second ice cream sandwich back when I asked him to. It was so AMAZING!

Mostly I'm writing this to say that I'm so grateful for today.  It gave me a peek at the wonderful person that my little boy is turning into.

Most of the time I feel like what we are teaching him goes in one ear and out the other.  But today I saw just how far from the truth that is.  He is learning and he is trying.  He really does just want to please.  I'm so proud of him.

I love this little man with all my heart!
